About Me

Hello and welcome! My name is Stacey Schwab (she/her) and I am a Licensed Professional Counseling Associate, under the supervision of Dr Laurie A. Hightower, PHD, LMFT-S, LPC-S, NCC, RPT-S, AAMFT Approved Supervisor. Dr. Hightower can be contacted at lhightower@tabh.org and (210) 376-8292.

Since a young age, I have always sought a deeper understanding. I sought to discover greater knowledge and deeper meaning. This led me to crossroads of Psychology and Philosophy, where I attained my undergraduate degree. In seeking to understand, a passion grew for serving those who have experienced trauma and my professional career began as an advocate for survivors of sexual violence. While my passion for working with survivors grew, I pursued and completed my Master’s of Science in Clinical Counseling Psychology. Even as a clinician providing psychotherapy now, I continue to be a passionate advocate and activist for survivors of sexual violence, including survivors of commercial sexual exploitation, women, minorities, marginalized populations, and for social and systemic justice overall.

Finding meaning, purpose, holistic healing, and your highest self is the foundation of Numinous Psychotherapy. My passion as an advocate and activist has fueled the purpose and meaning of my life. The word “numinous” can mean an awe-inspiring, sacred, transcendent experience, that appeals to higher emotions. My goal in working with you is to create a safe container where a profound, numinous experience occurs for you. It is my privilege and honor to walk alongside you on this journey.

This is an open, safe space for everyone, regardless of gender, sexuality, religion, race, sex, nationality, or disability.

My dog, Franklyn, and I take the pledge to start by believing survivors.
